Controlling How Far Dewbot Can Recover After Losses #
Martingale Limit is a setting that lets you control how many recovery steps Dewbot is allowed to take after consecutive losing trades.
When Dewbot loses a trade, it can increase the next trade amount to try and recover the previous losses. This process is known as a recovery sequence. Without any limit, that recovery can continue for as long as losses continue.
Martingale Limit lets you decide where that recovery should stop.
Instead of allowing Dewbot to keep increasing trade amounts indefinitely, you can tell it what to do once a certain number of recovery steps has been reached.
This gives you more control over how aggressively Dewbot is allowed to recover losses during a trading session.
Where to Find Martingale Limit #
Martingale Limit is available in Dewbot Pro only.
After opening the Trading Dashboard, look for the martingale section. Here you’ll find three related settings:
- Martingale Limit
- Limit Action (Stop, Pause, or Reset)
- Disable Martingale
These settings work together to control how Dewbot handles losing streaks.
What Martingale Limit Actually Does #
Martingale Limit tells Dewbot the maximum number of recovery steps it can take before applying the action you selected.
A recovery step happens each time Dewbot increases the next trade amount after a losing trade.
For example, suppose your Martingale Limit is set to 3.
- The first losing trade starts recovery step 1.
- If the next trade also loses, Dewbot moves to recovery step 2.
- Another loss moves it to recovery step 3.
- If another recovery step would normally happen after that, Dewbot won’t continue increasing the trade amount. Instead, it performs the action you selected.
So Martingale Limit controls the depth of a single recovery sequence—not the total number of trades Dewbot can place during your session.
How to Set Martingale Limit #
Setting it up is straightforward.
- Open Dewbot Pro.
- Go to the martingale section of the Trading Dashboard.
- Locate the Martingale Limit field.
- Enter the maximum number of recovery steps you want to allow.
- Choose what Dewbot should do when that limit is reached:
- Stop
- Pause
- Reset
- Review your other trading settings, such as:
- Base Amount
- Trade Capital
- Target Profit
- Stack Method
- Start your trading session.
Understanding the Limit Actions #
Stop #
When the limit is reached, Dewbot immediately ends the trading session.
This is the most conservative option because it prevents any further recovery attempts once your chosen limit has been reached.
Choose this if you want the strongest control over recovery depth.
Pause #
When the limit is reached, Dewbot pauses the session.
This gives you an opportunity to review the market and decide whether you want to continue trading or stop the session completely.
If you’re someone who prefers making decisions during unusual market conditions, this option can be useful.
Reset #
When the limit is reached, Dewbot resets the current recovery sequence.
Instead of continuing with a larger recovery amount, it returns the trade amount to your Base Amount and clears the current recovery count.
The trading session continues, but it starts a fresh recovery cycle instead of going deeper into the previous one.
What Happens if You Set the Limit to 0? #
A Martingale Limit of 0 means there is no recovery limit.
Dewbot will continue increasing recovery steps for as long as the recovery sequence continues.
This gives Dewbot the greatest flexibility during recovery, but it also means trade amounts can become much larger during long losing streaks.
For that reason, many users prefer setting a limit that matches the amount of recovery they’re comfortable with.
How Martingale Limit Works with Stack Methods #
Martingale Limit and Stack Method work together.
The Stack Method determines how much Dewbot tries to recover after a loss, while Martingale Limit determines how many recovery steps Dewbot is allowed to take.
If you choose a Stack Method that targets larger recovery amounts, each recovery step can become larger than one using a lighter recovery method.
The size of your Base Amount also plays a role. A larger Base Amount means each recovery step starts from a higher value.
Because of this, it’s a good idea to consider these settings together rather than adjusting them independently.
Why Martingale Limit Is Important #
Long losing streaks can cause recovery amounts to increase significantly.
Martingale Limit helps prevent that recovery from continuing beyond the point you’re comfortable with.
Using it can help you:
- Keep recovery sequences under control.
- Reduce excessive trade amount increases.
- Better protect your Trade Capital.
- Make Dewbot’s recovery behavior more predictable.
Best Practices #
There isn’t a single Martingale Limit that’s right for everyone.
A good value depends on things like:
- Your Trade Capital
- Your Base Amount
- Your selected Stack Method
- Your own comfort level with recovery depth
As a general guideline:
- Lower limits provide stronger protection and smaller recovery exposure.
- Higher limits allow deeper recovery but can result in larger trade amounts.
- A limit of 0 allows unlimited recovery depth.
If your priority is maximum protection, Stop or Pause are usually the better choices.
If you’d rather let Dewbot continue trading while preventing recovery from growing indefinitely, Reset can be a practical alternative.
