Why Windows Defender May Remove Dewbot #
Since Dewbot automates actions inside your browser, Windows Defender may occasionally mistake it for a suspicious program. This is known as a false positive.
A false positive simply means your antivirus thinks a safe program might be harmful because of the way it behaves—not because it actually contains malware.
For example, Dewbot can:
- Open your browser automatically
- Interact with the Pocket Option trading page
- Read information from the page
- Run automation tasks repeatedly while trading
These are normal parts of how Dewbot works, but they’re also the kinds of activities security software watches closely.
Because of this, Windows Defender might:
- Block Dewbot during installation
- Delete some of its files
- Move files into quarantine
- Prevent the application from opening
Adding Dewbot to the Windows Defender Exclusions list tells Windows not to scan or remove files from the Dewbot folder, helping the application run without interruption.
Before You Begin #
When you download Dewbot, you’ll also see an Add Exclusion File.
This file is completely optional. Its only purpose is to automatically add the Dewbot folder to Windows Defender’s exclusion list for you.
You have two ways to do this:
- Method 1: Run the Add Exclusion File (recommended because it’s much faster)
- Method 2: Add the exclusion manually through Windows Security
Both methods do exactly the same thing.
Method 1: Use the Add Exclusion File (Recommended) #
This is the quickest and easiest option.
Step 1: Find the Add Exclusion File #
Open the folder where you downloaded the Dewbot installation files.
Locate the Add Exclusion File.
Step 2: Run It as Administrator #
Right-click the file and select:
Run as administrator
If Windows asks for permission, click Yes.
The script will automatically add the Dewbot folder to the Windows Defender exclusion list.
Step 3: Wait for It to Finish #
A Command Prompt window may appear briefly.
This is normal.
Wait until it closes on its own. Once it’s finished:
- The Dewbot folder will be added to the exclusion list.
- Windows Defender will stop scanning Dewbot files.
- You can continue installing or using Dewbot normally.
Method 2: Add the Exclusion Manually #
If you’d rather not use the script, you can add the exclusion yourself.
Step 1: Open Windows Security #
Click the Start button and search for:
Windows Security
Then open the application.
Step 2: Open Virus & Threat Protection #
In Windows Security, click:
Virus & threat protection
Step 3: Open Manage Settings #
Scroll down to Virus & threat protection settings.
Click:
Manage settings
Step 4: Open the Exclusions Section #
Scroll down until you find Exclusions.
Click:
Add or remove exclusions
Step 5: Add the Dewbot Folder #
Click:
Add an exclusion
Choose:
Folder
Now browse to your Dewbot installation folder.
In most cases, it will be located here:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Dewbots\Dewbot
Select the Dewbot folder and confirm.
Windows Defender will now ignore everything inside that folder.
Why Adding an Exclusion Helps #
Without an exclusion, Windows Defender may remove or block Dewbot files while you’re using the application.
This can happen during:
- Installation
- Updates
- Launching Dewbot
- Active trading sessions
If important files are removed, you may experience problems such as:
- Missing file errors
- Dewbot not opening
- Unexpected crashes
- Failed updates
Adding the exclusion helps prevent these issues and allows Dewbot to run more reliably.
Is It Safe? #
Only add a Windows Defender exclusion if you downloaded Dewbot from the official Dewbot website.
Never add exclusions for software from unknown or untrusted sources.
As long as you’re using the official Dewbot download, adding the exclusion is simply a way of preventing Windows Defender from mistakenly interfering with the application’s files.
